Viafirma is in the process of certification to become a Digital Certification Entity (DCE) in Colombia. The verification of the required technical competencies is being carried out by the National Accreditation Body of Colombia (ONAC).
Mentoring and Support for the Internalization of SMEs Program
For this certification, Viafirma will count on the International Certification Aid Line of the ‘Mentoring and Support for the Internalization of SMEs’ Program, co-financed by the European Union and the Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Services and Navigation of Spain, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR).
Having this certification in Colombia will allow Viafirma:
Issue Digital Certificates
Specifically, Viafirma will cover three highly required issues:
- On the one hand, we will be able to issue certificates regarding electronic (or digital) signatures of natural or legal persons;
- Issue certificates regarding the verification of the alteration between the sending and receiving of the data message and transferable electronic documents;
- Finally, issue certificates in relation to the person who has a right or obligation with respect to the documents set forth in paragraphs f) and g) of Article 26 of Law 527 of 1999 in Colombia.
Time stamping
In turn, we may offer or facilitate logging and time-stamping services in the generation, transmission and receipt of data messages.
Viafirma and its process as Digital Certification Entity in LATAM
In the Dominican Republic, Viafirma is already certified as a Certification Entity. Its local subsidiary in the Latin American country, Avansi, was the first certification entity authorized by Indotel, in 2006. Since then, we can issue and revoke digital certificates, with full legal validity, in order to authenticate users and sign documents digitally.
Following the same steps in Colombia and becoming a Digital Certification Entity (DCE) will facilitate access to the digital signature market for Colombian and LATAM clients, improving the added value of our exports.
