Viafirma’s team is celebrating. In February, we celebrate our 25th anniversary since the Viafirma brand was created. And what years it has been. It has been a journey full of learning and lessons, but also of achievements and good news that we celebrate with excitement. For that reason, we want this month to be special: throughout February we will share with our readers publications about Viafirma’s brand.
In this article, we will take you through the origins of the brand and we will show you the milestones we have reached along these years. From our beginnings in Spain to Latin America, without forgetting the essence of the company: our employees.

How did Viafirma start? Our history in the 25th anniversary
Viafirma’s origins date back to 2000, when it was born with the social objective of providing advanced digital services to public administrations and making it easier for citizens to manage procedures, taxes and resources. However, shortly after, we discovered what would be the reason of being our company: the electronic signature. Our CEO and founder, Antonio Cabrera, firmly believed in its power as a transforming agent in a society that was yet to come, and decided to follow that course. Twenty-five years later, we can see that he followed the right path.
But let’s go back to our anniversary and history. That early need became the essence of the organization and what was our first slogan. Little by little we reached milestones and became pioneers in the sector with products such as the electronic ID reader or being the first electronic signature platform with certificate for iOS, Android (2010) and Windows Phone (2011).
Focused on the internationalization of the company, especially in Latin America, we did not take long to make the leap to the pond. We have clients in Cuba and the Dominican Republic since 2002, where we operate under the Avansi brand and were recognized as the first Certification Entity in the country (2006) by Indotel.
Colombia was not long in coming and we successfully completed the first project for a commercial network of more than 5,000 customer service points, being the first national solution with this technology. And a decade later, we launched the first centralized signature platform in LATAM for Sura Colombia. In 2020 we opened our first commercial delegation in Colombia, and little by little we have consolidated our network of commercial and technological partners in more than 10 countries in Europe and Latin America, which is growing and consolidating every day.
Undoubtedly, these are just some of the milestones that mark our history, but we still have many more chapters to write.
What have we achieved over the years?
Major milestones, new additions to the team, commercial delegations in Latin America, exponential growth during COVID-19 and more than 500 million signatures characterize our 25-year history. At the heart of it, of course, is the personal evolution of our employees. Many of them started out as young professionals and have now started their own families. That after so long they continue with us is a compliment that celebrates Viafirma’s commitment to its team on this anniversary.
In our anniversary, we would also like to highlight the recognition of our work by third parties, through awards and the satisfaction of the companies that decided to trust Viafirma as a tool in their day to day.
What business awards have we won?
The awards we have won along the road are a recognition to the work done by our competent team and, without them, it would not have been possible. For Viafirma, the awards not only mean that our products are on the right track, but that we hit the target and we cover specific business needs that are a reality.

- ENISE AWARD 2012. Winner of the ENISE 2012 Award for “Recognized electronic signature with electronic ID”. Third edition of ENISE. Award dedicated to the best mobility security solution for mobile devices.
- MINERVA 2012. Viafirma eSign for iOS. Electronic signature application for iOS mobile devices (iPhone and iPad). Selected project Minerva 2012. Andalusian Government
- RECOGNIZED AS AN INNOVATIVE SME COMPANY. Accredited by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Enterprise (formerly Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness), on October 3, 2018 with validity until October 2025.
- ANDALUSIAN SME EXCELLENCE 2021. Winner of the award in the category of business services of excellence. 12th edition of the Andalusian SME Excellence Contest, organized by the Joly Group and Caixabank.
- FIRST COMPANY IN ANDALUSIA TO BECOME A QUALIFIED SERVICE PROVIDER (2019). We became qualified providers of electronic services trusted by the Government of Spain, with the capacity to act throughout the European territory and being the first company in Andalusia.
- BUSINESS EXCELLENCE CITY OF TOMARES 2024. Winner of the award in the medium-sized company category. 4th edition of the “Ciudad de Tomares” Business Excellence Awards, organized by the Círculo de Empresarios de Tomares and the City Council of Tomares.
